What is Branding design?
First of all, let’s look at some definitions around the terms of Branding, Corporate Identity and what a Logo is.
- A Brand is the image that your business portrays as a whole.
- An Identity, that’s the ingredients, it’s the visual aspects that go into making the image that your business portrays.
- A Logo is what identifies a business in a simple visual form using an identifying icon or emblem.
A decent branding exercise is the cornerstone of your business, it communicates everything about your business to the world, so it’s paramount to do it correctly.
The way that I approach this is to start with the element that most people are familiar with, which is the logo. I’ll take your ideas and information about the image you want to portray and produce a sheet of logo ideas for you to choose from. Generally this will be four design variants in some altered colourways. Draft two is generally just a few tweaks to one of those ideas as I’m quite good at getting it right first time.
From there, the identity elements are easy to produce from the visual language of the logo. The branding then takes on it’s form when these elements are made into print design, such as business cards, letterheads and stationery.

Once I know what you are looking for with your branding I will come up with a sheet of ideas for you.
Most of the time I’ll get it right first time with just a few tweaks, but if not, don’t worry, we will get it perfect.
